The first Open Meeting on the 31st Bienal was held at the Bahia Museum of Modern art (MAM-BA) in Salvador. With visitor numbers in the region of 200 thousand, the MAM-BA occupies the Solar do Unhão, a 17th-century manor heritage listed since 1943. The museum, a Salvador landmark, also has a Sculpture Garden and cinema.
