Performance – Ricardo Aleixo – Diário da encruza [Crossroads Diary] – Belo Horizonte

On June 22, Ricardo Aleixo will perform Diário da encruza [Crossroads Diary] during the traveling exhibition of the 35th Bienal de São Paulo – choreographies of the impossible at the Palácio das Artes in Belo Horizonte.

The performance Diário da encruza is based on the namesake book, released in 2022. Dressed in the “poemanto”, a piece of “wearable art” he created in 2000, the artist will use a variety of unorthodox vocal techniques to bring to life a set of poems that celebrate and lament the black lives constantly threatened by the deadly machine of racism.
